Hey!
I’m Shanae – the recipe creator, writer and photographer here at Fork & Frolic.
I live in Sunny Brisbane, Australia, with my Husband, Jared, and my beautiful little girl who was born early 2023.
I created this website to connect with others who, like myself, want to feed your family nutritious meals without spending hours in the kitchen AND without spending most of your wage each week on groceries.
The goal is to spend less time cooking and cleaning each day and more time and money living your best life.
My favourite things are anything chocolate related, my family, and being in nature. Oh, and we love to travel!

Our Story
It all started when my husband and I got married in July 2020 (in the middle of the covid pandemic!).
We struggled to find a place to live because of our low income, but we managed to eventually move into a ‘cosy’ one bedroom apartment, living pay check to pay check, barely getting by.
We soon realised that we were actually spending more then we were making (oops!), we had to make a change, and fast!
We looked at ways to reduce our expenses as much as possible. Groceries was, and is, a big part of those expenses – we can’t live without food!
And honestly, I love food! I love eating fresh, vibrant food, not beige noodles and baked beans day after day (definitely some days though!) . So I got creative and tried to experiment with ways to reduce the cost of our groceries without sacrificing our health or the foods we love to eat.
These days, we are not as broke as we used to be, but we still like to be as frugal as we can with our day to day expenses. Why? Because we want to save up for other things in life that we want and love!
Perhaps you are in the same boat as us. Maybe you’re saving up for a house, or trying to pay off your mortgage, or saving for a holiday. Maybe you are us 4 years ago, barely scraping by and looking for clever ways to feed your family. Whatever the case, I hope you find some inspiration from Fork & Frolic.
